    I just signed up for Menu-Mailer adn the Paleo Primer Menu ORD203447. I am on heart meds and a blood thinner. The blood thinner I take I can eat Vit K produce so that is not a problem if I do not overdue. The Paleo Menu is too high in eggs and bacon and other foods I cannot eat as ofter as recommended in your diet. I need help in finding the right menu.

    Karen, we also have a Heart Healthy menu included in Menu-Mailer each week that meets the American Heart Association’s guidelines. That would be a good choice for you.

    Hi
    I was looking forward to using some of your recipes but I’m experiencing difficulty buying from your shop. I’ve tried twice, filled in all the required fields, and using a current card.  An error message comes up but does not give a breakdown of the problem.     Hip Tip: We love Sweet Potatoes. I make fish foil packs for the grill and for camping trips. I spray the foil with Pam. Put a slice of bacon, tilapia, one or two orange slices, thinly sliced onion, thinly sliced red bell strips, thinly sliced sweet potato and a few seasonings. Spray lightly with water and seal the packet all around with the foil. About 20-25 min on the grill or in the coals of the campfire. We also love baked sweet potatoes. Sometimes we make Texas Oven Fries with the Sweet Potato. The other day I made sweet potato hash browns. They were a hit.

    I just received my sample menus and grocery shopping lists.  I have to say, I’m a bit disappointed.  As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist with a busy practice here in Halifax, Nova Scotia, I know that anyone who suffers from, or who has a history of auto-immune disease (MS, Crohn’s, Lupus, Rhumatoid Arthritis, Hashimoto’s Thyroid Disease, etc.) should avoid gluten.  On your Daytime Menu-Mailer Shopping List, I see whole wheat flour tortillas, and whole grain bread (wheat).   Wheat and dairy are the top two most allergic foods that create inflammation in the body, and it’s common knowledge among the health community that inflammation leads to disease. 

    Also, we know that tuna should not be eaten more than twice a month due to high levels of mercury and other heavy metals. 

    I’m wondering if this is the diet Dr. Wahls has been following?  If so, I wonder why she recommends wheat and not gluten free options.

    Hi Penny -

    I think the free sample recipes are just generic samples of what’s available on Saving Dinner.
    The Dr Wahls-related menus are supposedly in the Paleo section of recipes – I say supposedly because I still can’t get the website to accept my email address to login, even though it’s the same email address that has received 6 or 7 emails since I bought the Paleo Bundle, including one this morning tring to sell me more stuff for $27 when I can’t even get at the stuff I already paid $47 for. 
    >_<
    Needless to say, I'm a little disappointed.

    But yes, the Paleo menus and recipes are separate from the free samples.

    The other menus included in the sample menu are not Paleo, not all menus that SavingDinner has are Paleo. The daytime menus, as well as the Regular Dinner menus, the Heart Healthy menus, the low carb and Body Clutter menus are not intended to fall into the Paleo diet. Only the “Paleo” menus are following the Paleo plan. I hope this helps.

    EASY BALSAMIC VINAIGRETTE
    1/2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
    1 1/2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
    1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
    1 small clove garlic, pressed
    1/3 cup olive oil
    Pepper to taste
    Mix together and enjoy on your favorite salad!
