Dear Leanne,
I’m so excited to receive the menu’s. I’ve always said that if someone would plan the menus and make out my grocery list, making dinner for my family would be fun! Grocery shopping was actually fun this afternoon. I feel good about what my family will be eating this week. I’m about to make the tuna casserole!

Dear Leanne,
I just wanted you to know how great and how great an impact your efforts are having on our family. Dinnertime is so much more predictable. There are scrumptious leftovers. The pantry is stocked with actually useable foods. I am calmer. Dinner is 99% easier. THANK YOU!

Susan

Hi Leanne,
I can’t thank you enough for this great ministry. We are all enjoying eating a new variety of things and it’s so nice not to have to figure it out each week. We watched you on QVC and I ordered a cookbook. You did a wonderful job. Thanks so much. I’m so thankful to have found you. God Bless You,

Linda

Leanne,
I LOVE Menu-Mailer! Everything was so easy for me this week. Asian beef and broccoli was a big hit with my family and we will definitely make it again. I love the make-up of your menus. Your recipes are easy to follow and delicious. Thanks for this wonderful bargain!

Yup, last week was my first week. Okay, comments. There are only two of us, but your stuff is very freezeable. Great! So we eat half and freeze the other half. I don’t have a dutch oven, so I improvised and made the mexican steak recipe in the crockpot, veggies in first, meat after browning, then sauce. WOW! It was good. But yesterday, the ziti w/veggies and goat cheese, it won’t make it to the freezer. I will NEVER loose weight with food this good! Well, DH and I are thrilled with the increase in our veggies, grains and good balance of the rest. And now I’m making a salad daily since I have time and am not stressing over the rest of the meal. You are GREAT! The $10 was saved in the first shopping trip, by me not buying additional junk I didn’t need, and fresh veggies are cheaper than processed meals, etc. Well, keep up the good work! 🙂

Just a “thank you” for the whole “Menu Mailer” concept! I REALLY appreciate it!!!! All of the recipes are great — and I like the fact that so many fresh, whole foods are incorporated….I was in a rut of meat and a starch for a long time because I couldn’t concentrate on figuring out how to use more veggies. In short, I was uninspired! But now, I am inspired with each new dinner-fixing time, because I am fixing something new and different every day, and it is all so quick and EASY!!!No thinking required! Ahhhhhhh!!!! I especially loved the “raspberry balsamic chicken” — very elegant, and sooooo simple! And the “easy lasagne” is so great — No Cooking the noodles first!!! Wow!!! My husband loved it!!!! I feel like a gourmet chef every day, and dinner (and grocery shopping) has turned from dol-drums to “I feel good about myself today”. I can’t thank you enough. Keep up the good work!!!!

Hi Leanne,
I came home late last Friday from a very hectic week at work to the delicious aroma of Enchilasagna…my husband had seen the shopping list and the recipies on the counter and decided to take it upon himself to make dinner!! This from a man who’s idea of cooking is Beef with Salt! I think this speaks volumes about the very wonderful service that you have offered to us… thanks so much!

Dear Leanne,
Just wanted to let you know how Menu Mailer has improved my life…We are a household of 2 adults, both working full time jobs, no kids, so meals ‘should’ be easy. Right? WRONG!!! Since the menu mailer has come into our lives:

  • *We have cut our fast food consumption by about 80%
  • *I have cut grocery shopping time by at least 80%
  • *I don’t buy food that looks good in the store, but ends up spoiling because I have no real plan for it*I’m out of the same-old-thing for dinner rut*I’m feeling good about taking control of our nutrition, and cutting out the artificial garbage from processed food.

Your recipes are versatile enough to be cut in half, or eaten as another entire meal. So, I’m cooking 2-3 times a week, and having a ready-made meal waiting for the other days. The variety of flavors, many of which I’d never considered putting together before, have been wonderful.

Best of all, we don’t spend an hour playing the “what do you want to do for dinner game.” “What do you want?” “I don’t care, what do you want?” and on and on until we end up running out to grab something quick, mediocre, and unfulfilling. So, you don’t need to have a big family to find huge rewards from the menu mailer.

Thank you for the difference you’ve made in my life.

Amazing…I finished my Plateau Buster week….I am motivated and energized and HOPEFUL! I have been trying forever to get below 165lbs and I HAVE. 6 solid lbs. Not water weight because I have been slurping away On to the LWL program. THANK YOU THANK YOU. It was hard for me but the snacking brekkie & lunch ideas are really do-able. Not just water weight either as I have been slurping away and my MD is going to be astounded when I show up next week so much lighter. I have had a light-bulb thingy I have to eat a different way forever, it’s not a diet it’s a Food Change! Much love and thanks.

  2. I have already made a 1 month plan for menus! So far by planning I have saved over $100.00 by planning ahead. Also, my family now thinks I am the best cook every and EVERYONE eats their veggies. No more hamburger helper and quick fast food meals for us, now we have a wonderful time eating together and enjoying the benefits of a home cooked meal. thank you!

Loving my kitchen again in MN!

  3. You wrote a piece on flylady about spinach… here’s my fast meal, he loves spinach like this, no other way.  I like fast, easy, excellent nutrition…  3 T olive oil and 1 T butter in saute/frying pan.  Stir in one chopped onion.  Add a bag of spinach and stir only til wilted.  Crack in 4 or 5 eggs, stirring as to make scrambled, but kinder.  When eggs almost set, stir in a large handful cheddar cheese and a handful grated Parmesan.  Stir once more.  Pepper to taste (enough salt in cheeses)  Hubby always asks if there’s more…

  4. I have recently been diagnosed with Celiac Disease and have found it a huge challenge to find healthy tasteful food that my entire family can eat.  Have you ever considered a book or blog for us folks with gluten allergies?

    2. I’d like that, too! Although I know eating non-processed foods, reading labels for gluten (in disguise, many times) and being diligent about restaurant fare all help! I’m seeing my physician next week for a wellness evaluation & showing him the information I’ve found on gluten ataxia, since I’m suffering from multiple symptoms described in it. Trying to get to the bottom of all this maze! I have an inkling that all the GMO’s our scientists are manipulating are probably a real factor, too!

      1. Our Paleo menus are all naturally gluten free, and our Menu-Mailer subscriptions have gluten free options listed on the recipes 🙂

  5. Hi Leeanne,  Your article today, and another one recently, about cooking Too Big, have been just what I’ve needed.  I’m no longer cooking for a family with teenagers, but for my husband, 90- yr old mother and myself.  Even trying to allow enough for hubby’s lunch the next day, I still had TOO MUCH.  Thanks for addressing this – I know I’m not the only one!   Diane  in Michigan

  6. In light of the recent comments made by Pastor Sean Harris about “punching the gay out of your children,” why on Earth would you make a joke about smacking your husband when he talks about his skinny jeans? Thanks for the low carb “God breeze,” but you can keep your casual homophobia.

  7. Leanne, I have been a Saving Dinner fan for four years, before being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes!!! Let me tell you that I LOVE LOVE LOVE your Low-Carb menu mailer with the Daytime menu attached to it!!! You have no idea what a lifesaver you are, literally! I LOVE getting to stick with my low-carb menu and pleasing my family too! And I love taking the guesswork out of menu planning. And most recently I went to Paleo, as well. Thank you for offering that too. The fact that you went Paleo speaks volumes, and shows in your BCMM.

  8. Leanne, I’ve been a fan of yours from the very early days. I remember when your first book was published! I adore you! I usually read health articles and it’s things I already knew. Your newsletter, etc are full of info I never heard before. I can’t afford health insurance, I havent worked in two years and hubby is a janitor. I suspect I have early diabetes from symptoms I’ve googled. PLEASE suggest a diet or meal plan for people like that? I heard on PBS a doctor say lowfat vegan was the cure, but the symptoms got worse. Another doctor says too much animal protein or fat causes cells to not grab hold of glucose. So confusing. I’m asking you because I trust you, as do thousands of us. If you can’t specify for whatever legal reason, then please tell us what meal plan you would follow if you were diabetic, or whatever it’s called when it first starts, resistant something. Please, please please address this in your health newsletter.

  9. I just wanted to write and say Thank You! I have lost 50 lbs over the past year using Body Clutter. My family is happier and healthier. It’s been a positive change for the whole family.

Last week we were in a hurry, so I threw a store-bought frozen casserole in the oven for dinner. When it was time to eat, the boys (ages 15 and 17 – who typically eat me out of house and home) just picked at it. After dinner they asked that I never buy dinner (except for pizza) again because my cooking is so much better!

  10. Hey Leanne – I’ve been a subscriber for several months, but will confess to you that I haven’t tried many recipes yet. I’m a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants cook, and enjoy coming up with new recipes myself. HOWEVER, I have gotten a lot of great ideas from you, and yesterday put one into practice for the first time. I have a small deep freeze as well as my refrigerator freezer. Both are always full to overflowing, but I never seem to have anything to cook. So yesterday, before I went to do the weekly shopping, I stopped, pulled everything out, and took inventory. Put everything in a notebook, and then grouped the types of food in areas of the freezer. Also threw out a ton of stuff that was past it’s usefulness. End result? I only spent $85 at the store on things we were out of and the fresh stuff. My usual bill is nearer $200 for my family of 4. Thanks!

  11. About LOBSTER — My friend from Nova Scotia is about 80 and says that as a school girl she used to swap her lobster sandwiches for her friends coveted baloney sandwiches.

  12. Hi Leanne! One quick question – do your new smoothie and fiber blend mixes work with JJ Virgin’s Virgin Diet? Thanks!!! ~Beth

  13. Hi Leanne, I’m sure you’ve addressed this issue many times. I live alone and just ordered the menu mailer. Do you have tips posted somewhere for us singles?

I don’t want to get too much in my freezer and have to toss things because of freezer burn, but I must admit, cooking for one usually feels like more bother than it’s worth.

And I see that I am wasting food, because I’m still shopping for a houseful although I’m only cooking for one.

I’m hitting the big 60 (yikes!!) in December and I’m working on going into the next decade with a skinnier body and an emptier house (a big shout out to Flylady!)

Thanks and I’m looking forward to getting started.

    1. Hi Beeloved,

Several of our single customers just cut the “serving for 2” recipe in half before cooking. Also, a few of them have shared that they follow the “serving for 2” recipe, and eat the leftovers for lunch the next day. Happy Cooking!

  14. I recently purchased your book “Saving Dinner” and was searching for a recipe for my leftover chicken. I came on Apple Chicken, right at the beginning of the book. I know it’s a Fall recipe, but I had all the ingredients except for 2 apples, which my husband got from the market. I served it and my DH, who is generally sparse with dinner compliments (he feels that his going for seconds is a compliment) said, “You really outdid yourself with this chicken!” I was so psyched I took advantage of your Menu Mailer sale. Thanks, Leanne!

  15. I had been a subscriber LONG time ago as a stay at home mom. I really liked the idea of someone telling me what to do LOL. Not having to think about what to make or my shopping list was wonderful. But I always found that there were at least two or three meals on each mailer that I just knew my family would not go for. So I still had to ‘wing it’. Then, I opened up my store and when I needed the menu mailers the most, I got lazy and just let my family eat out almost every night. We all gained weight. We all got lazy. We spent a TON of money. My oven grew cobwebs!!!! Now that I’m back home and cooking, I’m finding myself stressed out because I haven’t been planning ahead. My daughter always wants to help but I just want to hurry up and get dinner done before 8pm so I tell her no. I’ve been feeling horrible about that. I know better and have no excuse. So, now that I have more time to focus on my children and my family and our collective health, I’m getting back with the ‘program’ so to speak.

I just purchased a new subscription today to the Premium Menu Mailer and it’s already paying off. As I was browsing the re-designed (since the last time I saw it several years ago) I came across the video tutorial of the Premium subscription. Let me just say…FABULOUS!!!! So much easier to use than before. I LOVE being able to pick and choose my own personalized weekly menu. How fantastic is that!!! The ability to adjust the numbers of servings and have your shopping list automatically reflect that change is one of the best features.

Tonight’s meal was a pleasure to prepare. My daughter got to help! I had dinner done and on the table by 5:45pm. We made the Sausage and Kale soup and paired it with a very nice salad. My family devoured it! Luckily I doubled the recipe so there were sure to be leftovers. Now I’ve got enough for another meal for all of us. Just let this cool and stick it in the freezer. WooHoo!!!!

  16. I am surprised that you would subscribe to the paleo diet which clearly cannot be the best way to eat. Humans are not meant to be eating meat at all. Our digestive tract is way too long for meat to be expelled from the body efficiently and quickly. Our digestive tract is 6 meters long, so the remains of meat stay in the body for a long time and poison it slowly but surely, as putrefied substances. Meat eating animals have short digestive tracts and their bodies get rid of the digested meat quickly before it can start to poison their bodies. Also we have grinding teeth, molars, not the sharp teeth of meat eating animals. Our teeth are more like the teeth of cows and other grass/veggie eating animals. This are important indications for the type of food we should select.

It does not make any sense to presumably go back to some form of prehistoric diet when humans have so much evolved over these thousands of years and there is a reason for it. The paleo diet is an absurd attempt to recreate a situation which we as a human race have outgrown and left behind long ago. If you want to be truly healthy eat vegetarian or vegan. If the planet is to survive we can’t possibly continue with our meat eating habits. (know about the amount of grains that need to be grown just to feed animals that are then slaughtered for our food).
