Getting Off the Carousel of Crazy book

In Getting Off The Carousel of Crazy: How To Live A Vibrant Life In Full Bloom, you’ll learn to love and nurture the woman that you are right now. The Whole Woman, worthy of love right now. Worthiness doesn’t come in a size 4 pair of jeans.

You are enough right now today and that is the level of acceptance every woman on the planet needs to realize–it’s about you, not a smaller version of you.

And when you start there, you learn to listen to yourself, feed and fuel yourself properly, meditate and journal because you’re a soul housed in a body–and get this, you’ll even get better sleep.

You’ll start to understand that crash diets and quick fixes don’t work because they are akin to slapping a bandaid on something that needs the time to be healed properly.

We’ve all been there.

Desperate.

Tired.

Fed up.

We look in the mirror and see a stranger staring back at us.

We mumble to ourselves, “I’ve let myself go.”

We criticize, tear down and even shame our own bodies, belittling the rolls, the wrinkles, the cellulite, the stretch marks…

We turn on the television and see an infomercial guaranteeing us abs of steel… and for just the price of shipping, they’ll even throw in a 30 day supply of magic pills!

We stand in the checkout line at the grocery store and see magazine after magazine cover, advertising “The last diet we’ll ever need,” or “How to lose 30 lbs in 30 days,” or “How to fit in that bikini by next Sunday!”

And why not? Maybe this time will be different.

But it’s never different.

It’s always the same thing–

It’s one more diet, more cardboard tasting “diet” food, stacks of diet books piled high on our bookshelves, and exercise equipment in our bedrooms becoming a giant hanger for clothes.

Sound familiar?

To quote Britney Spears, “Oops I did it again.”

And again.

And again.

And even if we luck out on one of those diets and lose weight and start to feel good, it doesn’t last very long.

We gain it all back and we find those pounds brought by a few friends to really make us feel bad. But we keep repeating the cycle, each time finding yet another new diet, or magic pill, or weight loss guru that will surely be the answer this time…

Welcome to the Carousel of Crazy.

The truth is– there IS a way to get out of this destructive behavior pattern for good, but you won’t find it in the bottom of the magic pill bottle or finding a new guru.

Any food addict, myself included, knows that overeating isn’t really about the food. It’s about the comfort that the food provides – a temporary pleasure and distraction from things that seem beyond our control despite the fact the food will never love us back or give us what we really need–it’s cheap entertainment to distract us from what we’re really hungry for.

Look, I know allllll about the guilt and self-loathing that comes after you binge. Or eat something you really “shouldn’t” or feel helplessly addicted to a certain food (my drug of choice was/is chocolate)

I get it. Because I’ve been there.

I know the drill–how to hide fast-food wrappers before getting home or how to smuggle food into the house and hide it from the rest of the family to have later.

I’ve shared the painful memory of eating a huge bag of peanut M&M’s on the way home from the grocery store, crying and feeling the sharp bits cutting into the roof of my mouth till it literally bled, but kept eating them anyway because that pain was easier to deal with than the overwhelming pain that was my life.

This Carousel of Crazy not only consumes your thoughts, it sets you up for disappointment, again and again, keeping the pain of failure fresh and the sting of broken dreams all too much a reality.

But to get off the Carousel of Crazy for real requires a comprehensive approach.

It’s not just the food–there’s more to it than that.

Food is foundational, yes. Good food=feeling better. And when we feel better, we have more energy and are open to the possibilities of what our life could be–more active for example.

As we become more active, our brains start to pump out the feel-good hormones and actually feed the feeling we want to possess–can you imagine?

Our mood improves, our health improves, and yes, our waistline starts to make its comeback!

We now have the capacity to start to analyze our habits and patterns through journaling, working through the emotional baggage tying us to the scale. We become part of a community of like-minded women encouraging, supporting and standing in the gap for each other.

This isn’t another diet; it’s instead, an inside job. Because it requires ALL of you: heart, mind, body, and soul.

It’s time to get off the Carousel of Crazy.

It is possible. It is manageable. You have everything you need already inside of you to make it happen.

And I will be there with you as your guide, taking you through it all step-by-step, chapter by chapter, day by day.

Are you ready?

It’s time to get off the Carousel of Crazy and start living a vibrant life… in Full Bloom!
